<p><strong>50.4 Million</strong> students are expected to attend public elementary and secondary schools in 2017. This number has slightly increased since the 2015-2016 school year.</p>
<p>The racial and ethnic profile of students continues to change.</p>
<ul>
<li>24.6 million White students</li>
<li>7.8 million Black students</li>
<li>13.3 million Hispanic students</li>
<li>2.7 million Asian/Pacific Islanders students</li>
<li>0.5 million American Indian/Alaska Native students</li>
<li>1.5 million students who are two or more races</li>
</ul>
<p>On the other hand, 5.2 million students are expected to attend private schools.</p>
<p>The student to teacher ratio has not drastically changed within the past couple of years.<br />
In 2017, <strong>16.1</strong> is the expected number of public school students per teacher. <strong>On the other hand, the student-teacher ratio in private schools is decreasing. In 2000, the ratio was 14.5 and in 2016 it was 12.1.</strong></p>
<p>Due to inflation, per student expenditures are expected increase about 1.5% from last year. In 2017, the projected per-student expenditure is <strong>$11,600!</strong><br />
A total <strong>of 3.5 million students are expected to graduate from high school</strong> in the 2016-2017 school year. From these 3.5 million students, 3.2 million will graduate from public school, while 310,000 will graduate from private schools.</p>
<p>In 2017, there is expected to be an increase of students who are expected to attend American Colleges and Universities this fall. There is expected to be 20.5 million students attending college in the fall. There is going to be a 5.2 million increase since fall of 2000.</p>
<p>From these <strong>20.5 million students expected to attend college</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>11.7 million students will be female,</li>
<li>8.8 million will be males.</li>
</ul>
<p>From all students:</p>
<ul>
<li>7.2 million will attend two-year institutions.</li>
<li>13.3 million will attend four-year institutions</li>
